Expert Tips

For a nice touch, sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

Directions

  • 1 Use a fork to soften the butter and add the sugar. Keep mixing with the help of a wooden spoon and add the vanilla and flour little by little. Mix all the ingredients in.
  • 2 Place the dough on a clean, floured surface and continue kneading for 3 minutes.
  • 3 Stretch the dough out and create a roll. Cut the roll into 2 pieces. Place each piece of dough in plastic bags and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • 4 Cut the dough in to 1 cm pieces. Line a baking dish with wax paper. Place the cookies 1 cm apart on the sheet and bake at 350° F for 15 minutes or until they’ve browned.
  • 5 Serve and enjoy!

These are the first cookies I learned to prepare when I was little. One of my aunts would prepare them whenever I would visit and it became a tradition. My recipe is very simple and that makes them a great way to get the kids involved. With just 4 ingredients, you can prepare these delicious butter cookies!
