Expert Tips

The Berliners are best consumed fresh. Try to serve within 2 hours.

Directions

  • 1 Heat enough oil to fry the donuts in until it reaches a temperature of 375°F.
  • 2 Open the biscuits and carefully separate them. Fry in batches: 2 minutes and 30 seconds per side. Use a spatula to turn it over. Set on a dish with paper towels.
  • 3 Add the jam with a pastry sleeve with a round tip.
  • 4 Insert the tip into the berlin and fill.
  • 5 Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.

The holidays have arrived as quickly as the cold, and so have the memories of all the delicious food I used to enjoy with my family as a child. One of my favorite desserts was always Berliners, a donut filled with frosting, cajeta, jam, membrillo or guava. Delicious! We would usually buy them during our grocery shopping for the season, but using Pillsbury Grands! they can be made in just a few minutes.
