Expert Tips

If the plantains start to brown too quickly but they’re still not cooked, you can cover them with aluminum foil so they don’t burn.

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 400º F.
  • 2 Line a baking tray with non-stick parchment paper.
  • 3 Peel plantains, place them in the baking tray and brush them with melted butter.
  • 4 Bake for 25 minutes, flip them and bake them for an additional 10 minutes or until golden on both sides.
  • 5 Remove plantains from oven, make a cut lengthwise in the middle of each plantain and fill with cheese. Bake for 2-3 minutes or until cheese melts.
  • 6 Serve while hot.

These baked plantains with cheese are a true delicacy! The only problem is that you won’t be able to stop eating them. The best part of all is that they are easy to prepare, and that makes them the perfect option to serve as a side with any meal. The combination of the sweet plantain with the salty cheese is truly irresistible. Give them a try and you’ll see that you love them.
