You just need to decide how you’re going to buy it, raw or cooked and with or without bone. Today I'm passing a recipe on to you for a baked ham that doesn’t take much time that your family will love. This recipe is particularly possible among children because of its sweet and sour flavor, plus it's easy to eat. Just add a salad and mashed potatoes and you'll have a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 ham, approximately 2 lbs, boneless and cooked in its juice
  • Fresh ginger, approximately one inch
  • 1/2 cup of apricot jam
  • 1/4 teaspoon of fresh thyme, dried
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

Directions

  • 1
    Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • 2
Remove the ham from its wrapping, use a knife to make long cuts or diamond shaped cuts, but be careful to only slice the surface of the ham. Place the ham in a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  • 3
In the meantime, peel the ginger and cut into slices. Combine the ginger, apricot jam, thyme and lemon juice in a saucepan over high heat. Continue stirring to make sure all the ingredients mix well and create a thick sauce. This should take approximately 5 minutes.
  • 4
Run the sauce through a colander. When the ham is nice and hot, remove from the oven and cover with 2/3 of the glaze. Return to the oven for 15 minutes more. Remove from the oven and cover with the rest of the glaze. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes.

Remove from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before cutting. Enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
If you can’t find apricot jam, you can use orange or peach jam.
  • tip 2
Add other aromatic herbs like marjoram, cloves or parsley to give it a stronger taste.
