I love the heart-warming feeling of a warm cup of punch! The recipe I’m sharing today is a classic in my family during the holidays. Especially on Christmas Eve, after dinner, when we like to sit in front of the fireplace to talk for hours, open up a few gifts and enjoy this comforting drink. My husband likes to add a splash of liquor. So if you’re planning a get-together with adults, you can include a splash of brandy or tequila to help your guests warm up even faster. And you’ll love the aroma than lingers at home!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of apple cider
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
  • Zest of 1 1/2 oranges
  • 2 allspice seeds
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  • 1
    Add all the ingredients in a large sauce pan over medium-high heat. With a wooden spoon, stir to dissolve the sugar.

    When it boils, lower heat, cover the pan and simmer for 30 minutes.

    Serve hot.
